Shakira in Copacabana

Shakira will be this year's host of “Todo Mundo no Rio,” the free annual event held at Copacabana Beach. Both the mayor and the singer have confirmed it.

The event has previously hosted Madonna and Lady Gaga. In fact, Gaga’s concert, nicknamed “Gagacabana,” gathered 2.1 million people and gave Rio’s economy a serious boost.

So yes, Copacabana is about to be very, very busy again.

An estimated 128.2 million viewers watched this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, headlined by Bad Bunny.

Fresh off winning Album of the Year at the Grammys, he brought a full Spanish performance to the U.S. stage (which, Trump did not like). The show paid tribute to Puerto Rico and had surprise appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin.

It was not just a party. Bad Bunny also used the stage to criticize ICE (immigration enforcement policies), which have led to numerous arrests. He ended the performance by naming all the countries in the Americas, basically turning the halftime show into a geography class with rhythm.
