Wuthering Heights
If you were forced to read Wuthering Heights in high school and never actually did… now you might watch it instead.
However, early reviews say the movie is marketing itself as a love story, while the book is far from romantic.
Quick summary: Mr. Earnshaw brings home an orphan boy named Heathcliff and raises him alongside his children, Hindley and Catherine. Hindley hates Heathcliff and treats him horribly. Catherine forms a deep and complicated bond with him. Over the years, jealousy, obsession, cruelty, and revenge shape everyone’s fate.
This is not a sweet romance. It’s a story about obsession, resentment, pride, and revenge. Honestly, almost every character makes questionable choices.
