Daniel Vorcaro is arrested
Banker was arrested last week following a decision by minister André Mendonça.
Some documents from the investigation have started leaking to the public. One example is a WhatsApp group called “A Turma”, where members allegedly planned data gathering and even violent acts against journalists. Authorities also found a huge contact list including high-profile names such as Alexandre de Moraes, Dias Toffoli, and João Doria.
And it gets even stranger. On the exact same day as his first arrest (November 18, although he was later released), Vorcaro texted Alexandre de Moraes asking if he had “any news or if had blocked.” Moraes replied using the “view once” feature, which makes the message impossible to see again.
Later, investigators discovered that Vorcaro allegedly used the Notes app to write messages and send screenshots using the same feature on WhatsApp.
Ministers from the Supreme Court say the situation is becoming very complicated, especially for Moraes, since these messages are considered “hard” and “alarming” to explain.

War between the U.S., Israel and Iran
ICYM: The U.S. and Israel launched an attack on Iran on February 28 in an operation called “Operation Epic Fury.” According to Trump, it was “a precise attack to defend the American people and end the current regime in Teerã.”
The attack reportedly killed Iran’s leader, Ali Khamenei, and targeted a government building where officials were deciding on the country’s next leader.
In response, Iran launched attacks on U.S. military bases in the Middle East and also targeted the cabinet of Benjamin Netanyahu.
So far, there are no peace negotiations. When asked about the possible end of the conflict, Trump said: “It will be over soon […] everything they have is gone, including their leadership.”
The war has caused the price of oil to increase significantly (around 30%). This is mainly because the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most important energy chokepoint, is located in the region.
About 20% of the world’s oil passes through this strait. With the area currently closed, many countries have oil ready to export, but it is now stuck.
